Matthew Burnett is an accomplished legal scholar and advocate with extensive experience in access to justice and legal empowerment. Currently serving as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center, Burnett co-teaches a seminar on Access to Justice, Legal Empowerment, and Social Movement Lawyering. Burnett holds the position of Senior Program Officer for the Access to Justice Research Initiative at the American Bar Foundation and is a Co-Founder and Senior Advisor at Frontline Justice, a national initiative aimed at enhancing the role of justice workers in the United States. Additionally, Burnett is a Visiting Scholar at Arizona State University's Justice Futures program and has previously held significant roles, including Senior Policy Officer for Legal Empowerment at the Open Society Foundations and Co-Founder and Director of the Immigration Advocates Network. Burnett's educational background includes a J.D. from Seattle University School of Law, an Executive Program in Social Entrepreneurship from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and a B.A. in Philosophy and Intellectual History from the University of Washington.
