Steve Gierlach

Steve Gierlach is an experienced engineering leader currently serving as Senior Director of Systems Engineering at American Battery Solutions Inc. since March 2024. Prior to this role, Gierlach worked at A123 Systems from November 2017 to November 2023, where achievements included promotion to Senior Director of Engineering, overseeing hardware, software, and application engineering, and leading product validation and simulation engineering efforts. Gierlach has held various engineering roles at Takata, where leadership in developing a Driver Monitoring System was notable, and at Harman International, contributing significantly in technical program management and design engineering. Early experience at TRW Automotive focused on electronic design and EMC issues. Gierlach holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Kettering University.
