John Walter

John Walter is currently the EVP & General Counsel at American Broadband. John has previoulsy held the position of EVP/SVP, General Counsel and Secretary at CVR Energy, Inc. from March 2008 to July 2018. In this role, they advised executives and boards and served as corporate secretary for three public companies. John was also a member of senior management team responsible for creating corporate policy and guiding team members and resources to achieve objectives. Additionally, they lead the securities reporting required by SEC and NYSE, including Section 16 reporting. John prepared and managed legal budget and managed corporate legal department (three other FTEs) supporting entire organization, including operations, EHS, procurement, capital projects, HR (including union activities and benefits), tax and risk management. Lastly, they lead the attorney team in an $800 million acquisition of MLP nitrogen fertilizer manufacturer. Prior to CVR Energy, Inc., John Walter was an associate at Stinson LLP from April 2006 to March 2008 and at Seigfreid Bingham, PC from May 2002 to April 2006.

John Walter graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. John then attended the University of Kansas School of Law, where they earned their Doctor of Law degree.

John Walter reports to Christopher Eldredge, CEO. They are on a team with George Mack - EVP & COO, Jason Louvier - CTO, and Jim Patterson - EVP & Chief Strategy Officer.
