George Coleman

George Coleman has extensive experience in the camp and education sectors, serving as a council member for the NYS Department of Health Governor's Camp Safety Advisory Council since January 2000. As Co-Owner and Director of Coleman Country Day Camp since 1982, George has demonstrated leadership in camp management. Additionally, George has been an active member of the American Camp Association since 1978 and served on its board previously. Engagement in the camping community includes membership in the Association of Independent Camps from 1990 to 2013 and co-ownership of Camp Echo from 2001 to 2007. Educationally, George Coleman holds a B.A. in Linguistics from Binghamton University and has a background in education and athletics as a coach, teacher, business manager, athletic director, assistant headmaster, and founding director of the Summer Day Program at Woodmere Academy from 1968 to 1981.
