Associate Director, Regional Media Advocacy at American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN)

Michelle Zimmerman, MAP, has held various roles throughout their work experience. From 2014 to the present, they have been with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), serving as an Associate Director, Regional Media Advocacy. In this role, they manage staff, drafts media advocacy plans, and provides strategic media counsel for legislative campaigns.

Prior to ACS CAN, from 2012 to 2014, Michelle worked as an Advocacy Associate for the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association. Here, they contributed to advocacy initiatives.

From 2009 to 2012, Michelle served in multiple roles for the Ohio House of Representatives, including as a Legislative Aide and Clerk for the Ohio House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee.

Before that, from 2007 to 2009, Michelle worked as a District Aide for the State Representative of the 93rd Ohio House District.

Michelle Zimmerman, MAP is a highly educated individual with a strong background in politics and public affairs. Michelle obtained a Master's degree in Applied Politics from The University of Akron in 2011. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Affairs and Political Science from Muskingum University in 2005. In addition to their formal education, Michelle has also acquired certifications in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word from Microsoft in 2009. Recently, they have also obtained a certification in "The Key to Good Communication: Your Audience" from LinkedIn in 2020.
