Dr. Matthew Thiese

Dr. Matthew Thiese is an accomplished professional in occupational health and injury prevention, currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health since January 2022 and as an Associate Professor and Occupational Injury Prevention Director at the University of Utah since February 2003. Dr. Thiese is also the Founder and Chief Research Officer of SafeLane Health, Inc., where significant research initiatives are led. Additionally, Dr. Thiese spearheads the research team for the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine Best Practice Guidelines. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Occupational Injury Epidemiology and a Master’s of Science in Public Health, both from the University of Utah, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology from the same institution.
