Shinya Burck is an experienced GIS Data Analyst specializing in riparian and wetland environments, currently working with the American Conservation Experience since November 2022. Previous roles include serving as the Assessment, Inventory, and Monitoring Crew Lead at Southwest Conservation Corps, where leadership was demonstrated in ecological monitoring of rivers and streams in Northern New Mexico. Shinya has also contributed as a Forestry Technician at the U.S. Forest Service, supporting fire resource efforts, and as a faculty member conducting research on the impacts of the 416 Fire at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Additional experience includes positions as a Research Technician at Colorado State University, focusing on anthropogenic impacts on water systems, and as a Field Technician for the USGS Fish and Wildlife Research unit, studying plant nutrition along migratory routes. Shinya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Geographic Information Systems Certification from Fort Lewis College.
