Shannon Lynn Burton, Ph.D., currently serves as the University Ombudsperson at Michigan State University since January 2004, where responsibilities include resolving conflicts, recommending policy reviews, and conducting workshops for the university community. Previously, Shannon held positions as Associate University Ombudsperson, Research Integrity Coordinator, and Evaluator for the National Science Foundation, among others. Shannon's adjunct faculty roles at various institutions involve teaching courses related to conflict management, higher education issues, and student success strategies. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Higher, Adult and Lifelong Education from Michigan State University and multiple degrees from Grand Valley State University and Kansas State University in fields such as Sociology, Spanish, and Academic Advising.
