Jim Counts

Jim Counts has several years of work experience in various roles and companies. Jim started their career in 2015 as the Owner of James Counts Consulting Inc., where they provided software consulting and contracting services. Jim quickly adapted to new technologies and was able to efficiently deliver value to their clients.

In 2017, Jim worked as a Full Stack Developer at Renaissance Learning and implemented IdentityServer 4.0 and EventStore at Xero as a Software Developer.

From 2018 onwards, Jim primarily focused on Cloud/DevOps architecture. Jim worked as a Cloud/DevOps Architect at HealthEquity, American Heart Association, and Profisee. Jim also served as a DevOps Tech Lead at the American Heart Association and as a DevOps Architect at Hunter Industries.

In 2020, Jim was a DevOps Architect at Profisee before transitioning to their current role as a Cloud/DevOps Architect at Profisee in 2021. Jim also briefly worked as a Software Developer at n2y LLC in 2018.

Throughout their career, Jim has demonstrated their ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies, and their expertise in Cloud/DevOps architecture.

Jim Counts has a strong educational background in computer science and economics. Jim obtained their Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from California State University San Marcos from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they attended Humboldt State University from 1998 to 2001, where they earned their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economics. In the years 1996-1998, Jim attended Palomar College, focusing on general education.

In addition to their formal education, Jim Counts has also obtained several certifications to further enhance their skills and knowledge in the field. This includes certifications such as OpenHack: Security, Compliance, and Identity from Microsoft OpenHack in April 2022 and HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate from HashiCorp in November 2021. Jim also holds certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS), including AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate, and AWS Certified Developer - Associate, which were obtained in November 2017. Jim has also completed the Terraform Cloud for Business certification and is a Terraform: Certified HashiCorp Implementation Partner (CHIP).
