Katie Petrie, M.A., SPHR, SHRM-SCP

Katie Petrie, M.A., SPHR, SHRM-SCP has a diverse and extensive background in human resources. Katie is currently working as a Human Resources Director at American Expediting, where they collaborate and consults with key leaders on business strategies and initiatives. Katie is responsible for overseeing the HR function, staff, systems, and operations, and has been a primary HR lead for 6 acquisition integrations.

Prior to their current role, Katie served as a Human Resources Director at XTRA Lease LLC, where they focused on streamlining and standardizing the HR function across a multi-state operation. Katie also held the positions of HR Manager and HR Talent Manager at XTRA Lease LLC, where they developed expertise in payroll processing, benefit plan design and compliance, talent management, engagement analysis, 360-degree feedback, and succession planning.

Before joining XTRA Lease LLC, Katie worked as an HR Generalist at Nature's Path Foods, where they handled payroll processing, benefits enrollment, and HR metrics tracking. Katie also played a significant role in recruitment, onboarding, and training.

Katie's earlier experiences include working as a Training Specialist at Harley-Davidson Motor Company, where they successfully onboarded a large number of seasonal employees through a blended learning curriculum. Katie also served as a Talent Management and Organizational Development Intern at Hussmann, where they contributed to the development of mentoring programs, onboarding curriculum, employee data analysis, and talent management strategies.

Additionally, Katie gained valuable experience as a Training Specialist Graduate Assistant at University Housing Facilities Management, where they digitized company operations and trained employees on the new online system. Katie also improved selection processes and contributed to policy development.

Katie Petrie, M.A., SPHR, SHRM-SCP, obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh from 2008 to 2012. Katie then went on to attain a Master of Arts (MA) in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville from 2012 to 2014. Additionally, Katie Petrie has earned several certifications, including the SHRM - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) from SHRM in December 2017, and the Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) Certification from HRCI in September 2017.
