Troy Lyons has a diverse and extensive work experience in government affairs and legislative roles. Troy currently serves as the Vice President of Government Affairs at the American Exploration & Production Council, where they work with regulators and policymakers to promote safe and responsible exploration and production of oil and natural gas resources. Prior to that, they were a Partner at Massie Partners and held various positions at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), including Associate Administrator and Senior Advisor for External Affairs. Troy also has experience in the energy industry, working as a Manager of Federal Government Affairs at Hess Corporation and as a Director of Federal Government Affairs at BP. Troy began their career in government, serving as a Legislative Assistant for United States Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and holding positions at the U.S. Small Business Administration and the office of United States Senator George Allen.
Troy Lyons completed their high school education at Loyola Blakefield from 1997 to 2001. Troy then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Speech Communication at Randolph-Macon College, graduating in 2005.
