Shawn Dorman has extensive work experience in various editorial roles related to foreign affairs and the practice of diplomacy. From 2014 until present, Dorman has been the Editor in Chief at the American Foreign Service Association, specifically overseeing the publication of the Foreign Service Journal and serving as the AFSA Publications Director. Prior to this position, Dorman worked as the Editor/Publisher for Foreign Service Books/American Foreign Service Association starting in 2009. From 2006 to 2014, Dorman served as the Associate Editor for The Foreign Service Journal. Earlier in their career, Dorman was the Editor for AFSA News & Inside a U.S. Embassy at the American Foreign Service Association from 2001 to 2006. Prior to transitioning into editorial roles, Dorman worked as a Foreign Service Officer at the U.S. Department of State from 1993 to 2000.
Shawn Dorman has a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Cornell University. Shawn also holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree from Georgetown University.
