Jill Young, PhD, has a diverse work experience in research and evaluation roles. Jill currently works as a Senior Researcher at the American Institutes for Research since 2019. Before that, they were an Adjunct Professor at Loyola University Chicago in 2018. From 2011 to 2019, they served as the Senior Director of Research and Evaluation at After School Matters. Prior to that, they worked as the Manager of Research Data at Northwestern University in 2010 and as an Analyst on the Analytics Team at the University of Chicago from 2008 to 2010. Jill started their career as a Market Research Analyst at Deborah's Place from 2006 to 2008.

Jill first pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations at Drake University, where they studied from 2002 to 2006. Later, they continued their education at Loyola University Chicago, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Research Methodology from 2010 to 2013. In pursuit of further academic excellence, Jill then obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Research Methodology from Loyola University Chicago, which they completed between 2012 and 2016.
