Lakeisha Young

Instructional Support Specialist at American Institutes for Research

LaKeisha Young has worked as an Instructional Support Specialist at the American Institutes for Research since 2015. In this role, they provide technical assistance to district leaders and helps build the capacity of teachers and students in their districts. LaKeisha supports decision-making at the district, school, and instructional levels by offering best practices and hands-on training. Additionally, LaKeisha has served as an Adjunct Instructor at City Colleges of Chicago since 2015.

LaKeisha Young received their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English/Language Arts Teacher Education from Jackson State University in 1996. LaKeisha then pursued a Master's degree in Teaching from the same university in 2002. In 2007, LaKeisha completed a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Lamar University. LaKeisha also holds a Master's degree in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration, which they obtained from Chicago State University in 2014. In addition to their educational qualifications, LaKeisha has additional certifications in English 6-12 in Mississippi, English Language Learners 2-12, English and Reading Teacher for grades 6-12 in Texas, and High School Reading Specialist in Illinois.
