Michael DeArmond has a wide range of work experience in the education research field. Michael is currently the Director of Policy at the CALDER Center at the American Institutes for Research, a position they have held since April 2022. Prior to that, they worked at the Center on Reinventing Public Education, where they held various roles including Principal, Senior Research Analyst, Research Analyst, and Graduate Research Assistant. Michael started at the Center on Reinventing Public Education in 1999 as a Graduate Research Assistant and has been with the organization ever since, gradually moving up in responsibilities and positions.
Michael DeArmond earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in American History from Brown University in the years 1988 to 1992. Michael then pursued their Master's degree in Education and Social Policy at the University of Washington from 1998 to 2001. Michael completed their education with a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Washington, from the years 2007 to 2013.
