Brooke Shearon, MPP has a range of work experience in various organizations. Brooke worked as a Research Associate at the American Institutes for Research starting in 2023. Prior to that, they were a Student Research Analyst at the Milken Institute where they performed a cross-sectional analysis of U.S. maternal mortality rates and Medicaid expansion across vulnerable populations. Brooke also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2022 to 2023. Additionally, they were a Graduate Policy Intern at the Whole Community Health Initiative and an Underwriting Intern at the North Carolina Joint Underwriting Association and North Carolina Insurance Underwriting Association from 2022 to 2019. Brooke also worked as a Capstone Student Public Policy Analyst and a Policy Intern at the UNC Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill respectively. Their earliest work experience was as an Intern at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in 2017.
Brooke Shearon completed their education in a chronological order. In 2014, they attended Enloe High School where they obtained an International Baccalaureate Diploma. From 2017, they participated in a Summer Program at Columbia University, focusing on Psychology. Brooke then pursued their undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2018 to 2022, earning Bachelor's degrees in Public Policy and Economics. Currently, they are enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is expected to complete their Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree in the field of Public Policy Analysis in 2023.
