LaVarne A. Burton

LaVarne Burton is a seasoned leader with extensive experience in healthcare and policy. Currently serving as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Kidney Fund since October 2005, LaVarne has previously held significant positions as Senior Partner at Martin & Associates Healthcare Consulting and President of the Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA). LaVarne's career also includes crucial roles at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where responsibilities included Executive Secretary and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Budget Policy, and as a Senior Analyst for the Budget Committee of the US House of Representatives. LaVarne holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Howard University and a Master of Arts from The George Washington University.
