Margaret Tomecki has an extensive work experience spanning over several years in various roles within the field of pharmacy. Margaret started their career at Pinta & Warzecha Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician from 1986 to 1990. Margaret then worked as a Pharmacy Technician at ADVOCATE CHRIST HOSPITAL & MEDICAL CENTER from 1990 to 1996, before transitioning to the role of Hospital Pharmacist at the same institution from 1996 to 1997. Margaret then joined Dominick's Pharmacy as a Clinical Pharmacist from 1997 to 2006. Margaret later worked as the Director of Community Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago-College of Pharmacy from 2001 to 2007, concurrently serving as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago from 2001 to 2007. Margaret then joined the American Pharmacists Association, where they held various roles such as Senior Manager, Practice Development & Research from 2007 to 2011, Director, Practice Development & Research from 2012 to 2017, Director, Practice & Science Academies from 2017 to 2018, and finally as the Senior Director, Practice & Science Academies from January 2019 to the present. Additionally, Margaret briefly worked as a Pharmacist at Walgreens from January to March 2021.
Margaret Tomecki obtained a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from the University of Illinois Chicago, which they completed between the years 1992 and 1996. Following this, they pursued further education by completing a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at the same university from 1996 to 1997. This residency focused on Community Pharmacy & Ambulatory Care as their field of study.
