Cynthia Smith, CMP, DES, is an accomplished events manager with extensive experience in the planning and execution of conferences and virtual events. Currently serving as Virtual Events Manager at the American Physical Society (APS Physics) since June 2021, Cynthia develops strategic approaches for virtual and hybrid scientific events to support the organization's mission. Prior to APS Physics, Cynthia held positions including Senior Manager of Meetings and Conferences at the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and Sr. Manager of Contracts and Meeting Services at the American Society of Civil Engineers. Cynthia's career also includes roles at organizations such as NAVA and the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, where innovative solutions and streamlined processes were key focuses. Cynthia's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management from Lenoir-Rhyne University.
