William Kirby is a Research Scientist specializing in Quantum Computing at IBM since March 2023, focusing on designing and analyzing quantum algorithms for simulating physical systems. Kirby has served as a referee for various scientific journals, including Quantum, Quantum Science and Technology, and Physical Review Letters, among others, since 2020. With previous experience as a Research Assistant at Tufts University and a Quantum Research Intern at IBM, Kirby has contributed to multiple research projects, including ion-trapping of Ca+ ions to study quantum heat transfer.
