Claire Irene Howard has a diverse and extensive work experience. Claire Irene started their career as a Partner at The DelKen Group in 2000 and stayed there until 2002. After that, they worked at the General Council on Finance and Administration of The United Methodist Church as the General Counsel from 2002 to 2005. In this role, they supervised the legal department and managed complex litigation. Subsequently, they served as the CEO of United Methodist Property and Casualty Insurance (UMI) from 2005 to 2012, where they managed a non-profit captive insurance company. Responsibilities included compliance with regulatory requirements, risk control, and strategic evaluation. Finally, Claire Howard joined the American Property Casualty Insurance Association in 2012 and held several positions. As the Assistant Vice President, Corporate Counsel, they provided legal advice on various matters and supported the business through drafting and negotiation. Currently, they are the SVP, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, overseeing the law department and providing expertise on governance and policy matters to senior management and the Board of Directors.

Claire Irene Howard has a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from Florida State University. Claire Irene also holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Sociology from Millsaps College. Additionally, Claire obtained a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from Mississippi College School of Law. Claire Irene is licensed to practice law in both Illinois and Mississippi, as certified by the IL and MS Bar Associations.
