Emily Hanford is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in education media. Currently serving as a Senior Correspondent and Producer at American Public Media since January 2008, Emily focuses on producing documentaries that explore effective learning methods, equity, opportunity, and education research and policy. Prior to this role, Emily held positions as Senior Editor and News Director at WUNC-FM 91.5FM North Carolina Public Radio from 1999 to 2008, and as a Reporter, Producer, and Acting News Director at WBEZ in Chicago from 1996 to 1999. Emily earned a B.A. in English from Amherst College, where studies took place from September 1988 to December 1993, and completed secondary education at Brookline High School between 1984 and 1988.
