Kenneth Sundberg

Kenneth Sundberg is a seasoned professional in rail and transit systems safety and security, currently serving as the Director of Rail & Transit Systems Safety & Security at Kiewit since December 2021. With a robust background in safety management, Kenneth has held the position of Senior System Safety Specialist at the American Public Transportation Association since March 2011, focusing on audit and peer review functions across various transit properties. Previously, Kenneth was the Safety Health and Environmental Director at Parsons, where responsibilities included expanding the safety program to align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Kenneth's experience also includes roles as Area System Safety Manager for Bombardier Transportation, Safety Manager at Parsons, and Assistant Chief Safety Officer at WMATA, alongside a long tenure at the MTA - Long Island Rail Road, culminating in the role of Director of Safety Operations. Kenneth holds a BS in Industrial Engineering and Transportation Management from Dowling College.
