William Maroni (Bill)

William (Bill) Maroni has over four decades of experience in various leadership roles. William (Bill) served as the Senior Director and Senior Communications Strategist & Speechwriter to the CEO at the American Public Transportation Association from 2014. Prior to that, they were the President and Chief Executive of the United States | New Zealand Council, where they focused on advancing the commercial, strategic, and cultural relationship between the U.S. and NZ from 2011 to 2014.

From 2006 to 2011, Maroni held the position of Chief Global Communications & External Relations Officer at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). During this time, they directed Government Relations, Public/Media Affairs, and Communications and provided leadership to over 360 employees in the US, India, and China.

Earlier in their career, Maroni worked as a Senior Vice President at Powell Tate | Weber Shandwick from 1997 to 2005. William (Bill) also held leadership roles at Levi Strauss & Co., SJS Inc., Telesis Inc., The White House, U.S. Department of Labor, Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, and U.S. Senator John H. Chafee (R-RI).

Throughout their career, Maroni has demonstrated expertise in government relations, public affairs, strategic communications, and executive leadership.

William (Bill) Maroni attended Harvard University from 1973 to 1977, where they obtained a BA cum laude in History and Fine Arts. William (Bill) later attended the Harvard Kennedy School, although the start and end years are not specified. During their time at the Kennedy School, they pursued the Program for Senior Managers in Government. Additionally, Bill Maroni pursued a Leadership Development Program at the University of Maryland, though no specific dates are provided for this program.
