Harun Ur Rashid is an experienced professional in disaster risk reduction and program management, currently serving as a Senior Program Manager at the American Red Cross since September 2020, overseeing a $3 million Coastal Disaster Risk Reduction Program in Bangladesh. Previously, Harun held senior managerial roles at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the British Red Cross, effectively managing multimillion-dollar portfolios and providing technical support in cash grants and resilience building. With a strong background in program administration, community mobilization, and capacity building, Harun also contributed to organizations such as the UN World Food Programme and Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, among others. Harun holds multiple degrees, including an MSc in Natural Resources and Disaster Management from Independent University, Bangladesh, and an MSS in Social Welfare from the University of Dhaka.
