Sharon Watson

Sharon Watson is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in public affairs and strategic communication. Currently serving as the Chief Communication and Marketing Officer for the American Red Cross since June 2018, Sharon leads public affairs for the Missouri and Arkansas Region, acting as a senior adviser and spokesperson to regional leadership. Previous roles include Director of Public Affairs and Communications for Johnson County, Kansas, and Public Affairs Director for the Kansas Adjutant General's Department. Sharon has been actively involved in various professional organizations, holding leadership positions within the Kansas Association of Public Information Officers, the Regional Public Information Officers Association, and the National Information Officers Association. Sharon holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Public Relations from William Jewell College and a degree in Homeland Security from the Naval Postgraduate School.
