James Miller serves as the Chief of Civil Division and Assistant Attorney General for the American Samoa Government since June 2022, having previously held roles as an Assistant Attorney General. With extensive experience as an associate attorney, James worked in probate law at Brown and Crona, LLC, and civil litigation at Childs McCune LLC and Giometti and Mereness P.C., where responsibilities included managing case dockets and conducting hearings. Legal expertise also includes a fellowship at the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office and an externship at Temple Garden Chambers, focusing on international law. James is the author of the fantasy bildungsroman, "Robert Barclay and the Bunyip King," which explores themes of multicultural self-discovery. Educational credentials include a Juris Doctor from Notre Dame Law School and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Kenyon College.
