Parker Baird is a Policy Specialist at the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Prior to this, Parker interned with the American Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO where they researched and wrote reports on national education policy issues such as full-year academic calendars and school choice.
Parker has always been interested in public policy and its impact on people's lives. They are passionate about ensuring that everyone has access to a quality education. Parker's research on the achievement gap between Parker'spanic and non-Parker'spanic students helped inform the design of a professional development program for educators on effective civic education.
As we continue to navigate the Covid-19 pandemic, Parker is committed to studying the impact of school closures and shifting organizational structures within public schools. They believe that it is essential to have policies in place that protect the most vulnerable among us and provide opportunities for all to succeed.
Parker Baird graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Justice & Law from American University. They then went on to study at the School of Social and Political Science at The University of Edinburgh.
