Karen Mathes

Karen Mathes has extensive work experience in marketing and communications roles. Karen is currently the Director of Membership and Communications at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Prior to this, they worked at the American Academy of Family Physicians as the Director of Marketing for over 14 years. In this role, they led a team and was responsible for brand strategy, marketing initiatives, and product management. Before that, Karen worked at Sprint Nextel Corporation as a Marketing Manager, where they managed various marketing projects and programs. Karen also worked at Hallmark Cards Inc. as a Marketing/Operations Manager for a B2B internet company.

Karen Mathes has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from The University of Kansas. Karen also holds a Master's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing and Management from Rockhurst University. In addition to their formal education, Karen has obtained certifications such as the Certified Association Executive (CAE) from ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership, as well as completing the Emerging Leaders Program from Central Exchange.
