Matthew Butta

Matthew Butta has a diverse range of work experience in the field of development and fundraising. Matthew has worked as an Associate Director of Development at ASHP since 2023. Prior to that, they worked as an Associate Director of Development at Georgetown University Medical Center from 2022 to 2023. Before that, they served as an Individual Giving Specialist at ASHP from 2020 to 2022. Additionally, Matthew has held various roles such as Development Director at Girls on the Run - DC in 2019, Director of Development at the American Heart Association in 2019, Assistant Director of Athletics Development at American University from 2017 to 2019, and they were an Account Executive at Virginia Sports Properties from 2016 to 2017. Matthew began their career as a Senior Sales Consultant at The Aspire Group Inc, where they achieved impressive sales goals. Matthew also gained experience as a Graduate Assistant for Ticketing at Virginia Commonwealth University and worked as a Development Intern at James Madison University Duke Club.

Matthew Butta completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Sport and Recreation Management at James Madison University from 2011 to 2014. Matthew then went on to pursue further education and obtained a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Sports Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2015. Prior to attending James Madison University, Matthew completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Sports Management at the University of Lynchburg from 2010 to 2011.
