Joy Kleinmaier

EVP & Chief Business Development Officer at American Specialty Health Incorporated

As chief business development officer, Joy works with the chief executive team and the board of directors on strategic planning across American Specialty Health’s clinical network, fitness, and health management lines of business. Joy oversees corporate business development initiatives, including competitive and industry analyses that support partnerships, acquisitions, and other growth strategies.

Joy previously had worked at American Specialty Health (ASH) as the vice president of business development. Between her tenures at ASH, Joy was senior vice president of strategy, business development, and market analytics for Indiana University Health, the state’s largest hospital system and physician group. Prior to joining ASH, Joy was the advisor to the chief executive officer and director of acquisition integrations at Wellpoint, Inc., the national parent company of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Joy began her career in finance, spending over a decade with JPMorgan Chase in New York, Boston, and London.

Joy received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University and an MBA from Columbia University. She is chair of the board of directors for the American Lung Association (ALA) of Indiana and vice chair of the ALA’s Midwest regional board. Joy serves on the 2023 NBA All Star Game committee and on the board of directors for the Indiana Repertory Theater. Joy has served as a host home for Safe Families for Children since 2010 and is a trained Stephen Minister.
