Angela Roberts has a diverse work experience in the field of marketing and communications. Starting in 1998, they worked as the Recruitment Coordinator and Training Consultant at the Maryland Mentoring Partnership. From 1999 to 2004, Angela served as the Southern Division Coordinator at Legg Mason, where they managed communications between corporate executive management and regional managers. Angela then worked at Agora Publishing as an Editor, responsible for managing all aspects of monthly online newsletter development. Angela joined Johns Hopkins University in 2006 as the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications, overseeing targeted communications for the School of Engineering. Angela played a crucial role in raising institutional visibility and bolstering enrollment. Starting in 2009, Angela held various roles at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, including Director of Strategy Communications, Director of Research Communications, and eventually Director of Communications Planning & Strategy. In 2015, they joined the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association as the Managing Director of Strategic Communications, where they crafted and executed a vision for multiple internal and external communications functions. Their contributions earned their the President's Award for outstanding work in crisis communications. Most recently, Angela served as the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at the AVMA, where they developed and implemented strategies to grow the AVMA brand, increase membership and donors, and achieve business goals. Angela led a team of 35 across all marketing and communications functions. Overall, Angela Roberts has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills throughout their career.

Angela Roberts holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Non-Fiction Writing from The Johns Hopkins University. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Angela also obtained an Executive Education Certificate in Strategic Marketing from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management.

In terms of additional certifications, Angela completed the Accelerated Development Program at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in December 2011.

Currently, Angela serves as an Advisory Council Member for Digital Marketing at The George Washington University School of Business, where they are expected to complete their studies in 2022.
