Sharon Alexander has extensive work experience spanning over several decades. Sharon began their career at Allegheny Valley Hospital as an Assistant Director of Planning and Marketing Services. Sharon then advanced to the position of Assistant Administrator at the same hospital. At Forbes Health System, they served as the Director of Market Planning, overseeing strategic planning and marketing efforts for the healthcare system. Following this, they joined Meritcare, Inc. as an Assistant Vice President, where they spearheaded corporate joint venture and acquisition efforts.

Sharon then moved on to work at the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, where they held various roles including Executive Assistant to the Secretary of Aging, Deputy Secretary for Development and Operations, and Secretary of Aging. In these roles, they managed the daily operations of the department and implemented innovative programs such as the Family Caregiver Support Program.

After their tenure at the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, Sharon joined Genesis HealthCare, where they served as the Director of Strategic Business Development in the Managed Care Division. Sharon played a key role in implementing risk-sharing arrangements and evaluating the national PACE model replication.

Following their time at Genesis HealthCare, Sharon joined Living Strategies, Inc. as the Vice President of Business Development. Sharon cultivated partnerships with large employer groups to improve employee productivity impacted by elder caregiving issues.

Sharon then joined Universal American and held several positions including Vice President of Business Development at CHCS Services and Vice President of Health Plan Operations in the Medicare Advantage market. Sharon also served as Vice President of Network Development, responsible for developing comprehensive provider networks.

Sharon'smost recent position was as the Vice President of Special Needs Plans at The AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies.

Throughout their career, Sharon Alexander has demonstrated strong leadership and expertise in the healthcare industry, particularly in the areas of elder care management, strategic planning, and business development.

Sharon Alexander received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Planning and Administration from Pennsylvania State University from 1977 to 1981. Sharon then pursued a Masters of Public Management degree with a concentration in Health Care Management from Carnegie Mellon University from 1983 to 1985.
