Julie Brunner

Julie Brunner, J.D, retired Executive Director of the Minnesota Council of Health plans has served as Chair of Wilder’s Governance committee, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors, and for four years as Wilder Chair of the Board of Directors.

Julie has been active in health and human service issues her entire career. She served as the Deputy Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Health, County Administrator for St. Louis County, and Director of Child Support Enforcement for the Ramsey County Attorney’s office. Julie has held leadership positions in the health law and administrative law sections of the Minnesota State Bar Association. Currently, she serves on the Governance Committee of the YWCA of Saint Paul in addition to the Board of Directors of the Wilder Foundation and is a member of the Health Law Institute Advisory Council of the Mitchell Hamline Law School.

Julie’s past affiliations include serving on the Board of the Center For Victims of Torture, Portico Healthnet, Hearth Connection, Minnesota Community Measurement, and as a member of the Health Reform Advisory Council of the Minnesota Department of Health and the Harvard University Executive Leadership program. She served on the Advisory Board of the German European Institute at the University of Minnesota. She has been a frequent speaker on health policy issues and traveled to Germany a number of times with a delegation of Minnesota Health leaders to meet with officials of the German Health Ministry.
