Joseph Giuliano

Vice President, US And Global Medical Affairs at Amicus Therapeutics

Joseph Giuliano has extensive work experience in the medical and healthcare industry. Joseph started their career as a Sr. Research Nurse/Program Coordinator at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1996. Joseph then worked as a Medical Program Coordinator at Merck from 1998 to 2000. After that, they served as a Project Director at Target Research Associates (Clinsys) from 2000 to 2003, managing development programs for pharmaceutical clients in various therapy areas.

In 2003, Joseph joined GE Healthcare as an Associate Director, Clinical Operations, where they were responsible for managing all clinical development programs in North America and served as the global lead of the Clinical Project Management function.

In 2008, they joined CHDI Foundation as the Director of Clinical and Medical Operations, where they provided leadership and operational excellence for global clinical and medical initiatives. Joseph played a key role in designing and implementing a global registry platform for Huntington's disease, managing global collaborations and partnerships with pharmaceutical partners to maximize registry utilization for real-world data collection and sharing.

Since 2016, Joseph has been working at Amicus Therapeutics. Joseph initially served as the Executive Director of Global Medical Affairs Operations, where they played a crucial role in developing the foundational infrastructure and processes for a world-class global medical affairs function. Joseph collaborated with cross-functional teams on various aspects, including global congress planning, symposia development, publication planning, and strategy. Joseph also contributed to medical field operations, RWE development, and phase 4 study development and execution, and interactions with the global brand team. Joseph later became the Global Medical Lead for Fabry Disease and currently holds the position of Vice President, US and Global Medical Affairs. In this role, they led the major medical launch of the first new medicine in Fabry disease in 15 years and is responsible for global medical strategy, evidence generation planning, publications, and disease registry strategy.

Joseph Giuliano has a B.S. in Nursing from The Catholic University of America, which they obtained from 1993 to 1994. Joseph also has an AB in Chemistry from the same university, which they acquired from 1981 to 1985. In addition, they hold certifications as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from GE Healthcare and as a Six Sigma Green Belt, also from GE Healthcare.
