Daniel Caldwell

Daniel Caldwell has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Daniel started their career as a CPDC Webmaster at CSUSB in 2000. Daniel then joined ESRI in 2001, where they worked in various roles including Lead Software Engineer, Product Owner for Production Mapping Framework, Lead Developer for MPS-Atlas, and Programmer. During their time at ESRI, Daniel was responsible for coordinating architectural changes, mentoring junior developers, and developing GIS software.

In 2014, Daniel joined AmigoCloud Inc. as the Director of GIS. Daniel oversaw the development of backend services and frontend applications, designed REST APIs, and implemented them using Python Django backend services and JavaScript Angular/React frontend applications. Daniel also worked on improving security and developing a custom UI.

In 2015, Daniel took on the role of Director of Engineering at AmigoCloud. Daniel remotely managed a software development team and focused on improving uptime availability, modernizing application deployment, and implementing adaptable development processes. Daniel significantly reduced the attack surface by 90%, enhancing security.

In 2017, Daniel also took on the role of Professional Services Manager at AmigoCloud. Daniel managed several projects, including implementing an on-premise installation of Open Trip Planner and developing a custom Django Backend and JavaScript/React frontend for data collection and reporting.

Throughout their career, Daniel has demonstrated a strong technical expertise in GIS software development and a passion for improving processes and enhancing security.

Daniel Caldwell attended California State University-San Bernardino from 1997 to 2001. During this time, they earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science.
