Pete Jungwirth

Co-Founder & Chief Technical Officer at Amira Learning

Pete Jungwirth is the Co-Founder and Chief Technical Officer of Amira Learning. Pete has over two decades of research experience at Carnegie Mellon University, where they helped develop Amira, a AI and speech recognition system that helps young children learn to read.

Prior to their work at Amira Learning, Pete was with Renaissance Learning for 15 years and 11 months, where they held various positions such as Senior Vice President of R&D, Vice President R&D - Development, Vice President of Engineering, Director of Hardware Engineering, Firmware Engineering and Technology Manager, Design Engineer. In their role as Senior Vice President of R&D at Renaissance Learning, Pete was directly responsible for the delivery of all work through a geographically distributed cross-functional organization comprised of 100+ employees. Pete was also responsible for the architecture of a cloud-based platform serving millions of students daily. As a key participant in corporate product portfolio planning and business development initiatives, Pete led the organization during a successful transition to Lean/Agile methodologies.

Pete has also been responsible for new product development for hardware, software, mobile and SaaS products at both Renaissance Learning and Amira Learning. Pete has led successful launches of multiple products, including the NEO 2 product and the STAR Enterprise assessment product. Pete has also overseen manufacturing transitions to overseas contract manufacturers. Pete is an inventor on one utility patent and three design patents, with three applications still pending.

Pete Jungwirth attended the University of Minnesota, where they received their BSEE in Electrical Engineering. Pete was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity during their time at the university.

Pete Jungwirth is the Co-Founder and Chief Technical Officer of a company. Pete has a team of eight colleagues who work in various departments such as marketing, machine learning, customer success, and sales.
