Robert F. Smith Archives Intern at Amistad Research Center

Julia Tanenbaum has extensive experience in archival research and digital curation. Currently serving as a Robert F. Smith Archives Intern at Amistad Research Center, Julia has appraised and arranged the Pat Goudvis Photograph Collection and imported photographs into the Louisiana Digital Library. Previous roles include Curator at June L. Mazer Archives, where Julia created a digital exhibit on the Women's Music Movement, and Archives Intern at June L. Mazer Lesbian Archives, where Julia conducted a digital materials survey and facilitated a monthly LGBTQ discussion group. Julia's background also includes research assistance at the University of California, Los Angeles, where Julia offered support on digital humanities tools and created research guides, as well as research assistance on the local Civil Rights Movement for Dr. Karin Stanford. Academic qualifications include a Master of Library & Information Science with a focus on Archival Studies from UCLA and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Bryn Mawr College.
