Kathe Hambrick serves as the Interim Executive Director at the Amistad Research Center since February 2023 and is the Founder and Principal of 2Preserve Consulting, established in March 2021, focusing on preserving and presenting history, art, and cultural narratives. From 2017 to 2021, Kathe was the Chief Curator and Director of Interpretation at the West Baton Rouge Museum, which highlights the cultural heritage of West Baton Rouge Parish. Prior experience includes founding and directing the River Road African American Museum from 1994 to 2018, aimed at educating the public about African American history in South Louisiana. Notable accomplishments include being named the 2014 Louisiana Museum of the Year and receiving recognition in publications such as the New York Times. Kathe holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from California State University, Long Beach, and a Master of Arts in Museum Studies from Southern University at New Orleans.
