Director - R&D Materials at Amogy

Hasmukh Patel has over a decade of experience in research and development roles within the energy and materials science industries. Hasmukh currently works as the Director of R&D Materials at Amogy, where they lead materials development for ammonia to power technologies, oversees research projects, and collaborates with cross-functional teams. Before joining Amogy, Hasmukh worked at Aramco Americas, where they held various roles, including Research Science Specialist and Senior Research Scientist. During their time at Aramco Americas, they led research projects in CCUS, hydrogen technologies, and next-generation materials for drilling operations. Hasmukh also represented the company at national and international forums and played a key role in developing proprietary materials. Hasmukh's earlier experience includes positions as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Northwestern University, a Research Associate at University College London, an Assistant Research Professor at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Politecnico di Torino. Throughout their career, Hasmukh has excelled in developing innovative materials, scaling up processes, and contributing to advancements in CO2 capture, catalysis, water treatment, and energy technologies.

Hasmukh Patel completed their Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Sardar Patel University in 2000. Hasmukh then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Materials Science from Sardar Patel University, which they completed in 2002. In 2005, Hasmukh Patel began their doctoral studies at Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSMCRI) and Bhavnagar University, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry in 2009. Subsequently, from 2015 to 2017, they were a Postdoctoral fellow at Northwestern University.
