Barr studied math at Harvard with the hope of applying a quantitative skillset to complex problems. She was lucky to intern and work across Wall Street, the White House, and Silicon Valley – she was ultimately drawn to the tech industry for its fast pace of innovation and potential to shape society. Applying her data science skill set allowed her to be a decision-maker early in her career, including at large companies like Facebook and eBay. She strongly believe that more folks should be able to make data-driven decisions, and that they are nowhere close to hitting the potential of using data and machine intelligence in software products.
