Alina Istrate

Alina Istrate, PhD, CQF, is a Data Scientist at Ampowr since November 2023, with a strong background in astrophysics and quantitative finance. Prior to this role, Istrate served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Radboud University Nijmegen from September 2018 to August 2022, and held a Postdoctoral Research Associate position at The Leonard E. Parker Center for Gravitation, Cosmology and Astrophysics from February 2016 to August 2018. Alina's research expertise encompasses computational stellar astrophysics, developed during a PhD at The University of Bonn from September 2012 to November 2016. Educational qualifications include a Certificate in Quantitative Finance from CQF Institute (January 2023 - October 2023), a Master of Science in Computational Material Science from the University of Wuppertal (September 2009 - April 2012), and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Bucharest (2004 - 2008). Istrate's earlier research experience includes summer positions at Forschungszentrum Jülich, the Nano Initiative, and Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin.
