Lenah Mukhtar, Ph.D., currently serves as the Head of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Reference Lab and Chief Laboratory Research Expert at the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) since May 2021. Additionally, Lenah is an Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Ambassador for AMR Insights and the International FAO Antimicrobial Resistance Monitoring (InFARM) Focal Point for Saudi Arabia. Lenah's previous roles include Laboratory Technical Supervisor at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, and Clinical Research Coordinator at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, where contributions were made to the Canadian Cancer Clinical Trials Network. Lenah holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry specializing in Human and Molecular Genetics and a Master’s degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Ottawa. Early educational experiences include a Bachelor in Clinical Laboratory Science from King Saud University and various research roles in Canadian institutions.
