Mark Long has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Mark began their career in 1997 as a Desktop/Printer Tech for FirstUSA - Ameristar, supporting bank locations in the Wilmington area. Mark then worked as a Novell Administrator and Desktop Support Engineer for W. L. Gore and Associates in 2000. After that, Mark joined CDI Information Technology Services as a LAN Administrator, providing expert support for multiple sites and executive level support for BAE Systems. In 2001, they became the NT Server Manager for Computer Sciences Corporation, managing computing services. Mark then joined CNSI in 2005 as an IT Engineering Support and Systems Engineering Server Administrator. Since 2006, they have been working for Amtrak in various roles, including Sr. Systems Administrator / Primavera SME and Sr. Manager LDAP / IAM. Currently, they serve as the Director of Digital Technology and Innovation - System Design & Development IAM, leading the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team. Throughout their career, Mark has gained expertise in areas such as system administration, server management, support, and project management.
Mark Long attended various educational institutions and obtained degrees in different fields of study. From 1991 to 1993, they pursued a BS in Electrical Engineering at Drexel University. Afterwards, they attended the University of Delaware from 1994 to 1996, earning a BS in Computer Science. Finally, from 1997 to 1999, Mark studied at Delaware Technical and Community College and obtained an Associates degree in Computer Network Engineering Technology. In addition, they received a certification in Building Business Acumen from Acumen Learning in 2023.
