Nathaniel Krefman has worked in a variety of scientific roles since 2004. Nathaniel began their career as an Ecology Extern at the University of Idaho in Pocatello, Idaho. Nathaniel then worked as an Instructor/Near-Peer Mentor, Neurobiology Extern at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Silver Springs, MD. In 2004, they also worked as an Integrative Cultural Research Project at the Centro Nacional de Biotecnología in Madrid, Spain, and as an Undergraduate Researcher at the same institution in 2005. In 2007, they worked as a Fulbright Predoctoral Researcher at the Centro Nacional de Biotecnología. From 2008 to 2015, they worked as a Junior Specialist and Ph.D Research (NSF Graduate Research Fellow) at the University of California, Berkeley. Most recently, they have worked as a Scientific Consultant at CollabRx since 2015, and as a Scientist, Microbial Strain Engineer at Amyris since 2017.
Nathaniel Krefman's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley (2008-2014). Nathaniel was also a Fulbright Scholar at the Centro Nacional de Biotechnolgía (2007-2008). Nathaniel obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Biology from Kalamazoo College (2002-2006), and studied abroad at Universidad Nebrija (2004-2005). Nathaniel graduated from Paw Paw High School with a diploma in 2002.
