Scientist 1 Downstream Process Development at Amyris

Ronald Henry has worked in the biotechnology industry since 1995. Ronald began their career at Chiron, where they held various roles, including Senior Development Specialist, Development Specialist 1, and Development Associate. During this time, they developed recovery processes for proteins expressed in microbial and mammalian hosts, assisted in the development of fermentation processes for proteins expressed in microbial hosts, and operated and maintained 10 liter Chemap fermentors. In 2007, they joined Amyris as a Scientist 1 Downstream Process Development. In this role, they developed novel separation and recovery schemes for yeast and E. coli derived sesquiterpenes engineered on a synthetic biology platform, as well as a novel, scalable aqueous extraction and precipitation method for separating Artemisinic Acid from yeast fermentation broth.

Ronald Henry attended Laney College from 1991 to 1993. Ronald then went on to receive a BA in MCB from the University of California, Berkeley from 1993 to 1995.
