Deirdre Murphy

Deirdre Murphy currently serves as a Research Project Manager at University College Cork and as a Climate Ambassador for An Taisce, both positions initiated in 2024. Previously, Deirdre worked as a Voluntary Teacher at Cork Migrant Centre and held the role of Project Support Officer at Nano Nagle Place. Deirdre’s extensive career at PepsiCo spanned from 2004 to 2022, where roles included Director of IT Operations, Technology Infrastructure/Operations Lead, Application Manager, SAP Technical Lead, and Oracle Team Lead. Earlier experience includes positions at GE Capital as an Information Technology Analyst/Project Lead and at Grand Metropolitan Foods Europe as an IT Analyst/Developer. Deirdre holds a Master’s degree in Technical and Scientific Communication from the University of Limerick, a Bachelor of Commerce in Management Information Systems from University College Cork, and is currently pursuing a Diploma in Climate, Sustainability & Environment at University College Cork.
