Sandra Velazquez, LPP, currently serves as a Senior Community Planning and Development Representative for Puerto Rico since March 2024. Concurrently, Sandra holds the position of Grant Manager for Disaster Recovery and Special Issues at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and serves as the Community Planning Lead for FEMA since October 2018. With a strong academic background, including a Master's degree in Urban and Environmental Planning and ongoing doctoral studies in Regional Planning at the University of Salamanca, Sandra has also been a professor at Ana G. Mendez University since April 2007. Prior roles include Executive Assistant to the Mayor at Municipio Autónomo de Caguas, where responsibilities included managing the Continuum of Care Plan for the homeless, and Director of the Planning Office at the Puerto Rico Tourism Company.
