Lori Campbell has over 20 years of experience in the field of biobanking, biospecimen research, and laboratory management. Lori is currently working as a Strategic Sourcing Specialist at Analytical Biological Services Inc. (ABS Inc.), starting in March 2023.
Prior to this, Lori worked as an Independent Biobanking and Biospecimen Research Consultant since February 2014. In this role, they provided expert guidance and review for the establishment and improvement of specimen collection, storage, and distribution processes. Lori also assisted in the development of Standard Operating Procedures, Governance Policies, Quality Systems, and Industry Best Practices.
From November 2015 to August 2021, Lori worked as a Curator for the Biospecimen Research Database.
Lori's experience also includes serving as the Director of Management Services at the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) from November 2003 to January 2014. In this position, they provided overall management for all scientific, operational, administrative, and repository activities. Lori ensured compliance with standard operating procedures, quality plans, and contract requirements.
Lori has also worked as the Director of Research and Development at Medex Regional Laboratories for a brief period in 2003, where they evaluated, designed, and implemented new test methodologies for the clinical diagnostics laboratory.
Before that, Lori served as the Associate Director of Parentage Testing/Scientific Liaison at the Molecular Pathology Laboratory Network from December 2001 to March 2003. Their responsibilities included supervising technical and client service staff, evaluating and implementing new test methodologies, and providing counseling and technical expertise in genetic and molecular testing.
Overall, Lori Campbell has a diverse and extensive background in biobanking, biospecimen research, laboratory management, and strategic sourcing.
Lori Campbell pursued their education in a chronological manner, starting with their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from East Tennessee State University, which they obtained from 1990 to 1994. Following this, from 1995 to 2000, they attended the East Tennessee State University James H. Quillen College of Medicine, where they completed their PhD in Biomedical Sciences.
