Sumant Avasarala is a Senior Scientist at Anchor QEA since September 2022, specializing in leading environmental remediation projects within the Environmental Geochemistry Laboratory in Portland, Oregon. Prior to this role, Sumant served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, focusing on phosphorus and iron interactions in the Arctic Tundra, and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Riverside, where research involved the treatment of contaminants in stormwater through collaborative efforts across five UC campuses. Sumant holds a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of New Mexico, an MS in Chemical Engineering from Wayne State University, and a B-Tech in Chemical Engineering from Anna University Chennai.
